Amero, Emilio

Emilio Amero (1901-1976) was an artist who actively pursued painting, printmaking, illustration, photography, and film making in the course of his career. He was born in Ixtlahuaca, Mexico in 1901. He was in one of the first groups of muralists to be commissioned in Post-Revolutionary Mexico. After spending time in New York, Cuba, and Mexico as an artist, Amero spent significant time in the United States teaching art at the collegiate level, first in New York, then Seattle, and in Oklahoma.
